The woods stayed up
The stars hanged on
We were sitting on earth under heaven
All night long and hours past eleven
We shed some tears
To the ground they fell
To the green grass dew
With the pain we never knew
Our questions were hard to answer
Our words and voices were about to falter
You swept my dripping tears
Hushed my heart assuring you’ll be here
We were waiting for our eyes to dry
And never give up you say we’ll try
We were waiting for the stars to fall
The sun still rose on us after all
