Broken Song

beating but a broken sound
rattling and mumbling words
confessions more than melancholy
sorrows and plain regrets
all i am a wretched king,
begging for indispensable mercy
committed crime beyond remedy

i reckon i’m a man of war
brave enough to face my foes
but I.. I cringe in fear
to lose the One I hold so dear
i admit i dread all consequence
dismissive now is my eloquence
in the light of You there’s no pretense

the mess i made
this guilt I bear
conquered kingdoms but grace i can’t buy
desperation is the currency
i need You so in this misery
nothing i can give
but a broken heart singing a broken song

River Peace

River peace
Pour over my stormy seas
A thousand times more
More than my cries at this shore

River peace
Surge as you please
Let down from heaven
Flood over me twenty-four-seven

River peace
Let my laid back boat go sinking
An impetuous dive is worth taking
Risking but in you is healing

River peace
When all is done and said
Drown this weary heart and achy head
Lead me on the alleys I tread

Life is a Puzzle

Life is a puzzle
You wonder and dazzle
To the grave from cradle
Trapped in a maze we journey and wrestle

Life is full of questions
Questions more than convictions
Will I ever solve this mystery?
Gathering up pieces from an allegory

Life is an enigma
Lines and scripts or some iffy drama
I’ve gotta ask God what these all mean
Or shall we just wake up from this awry dream?

Open up, I’m standing by
God, you hear enough a sigh
My breath is knocking on your heart’s door
You know I wanna be on heaven’s floor

Open up, I’m standing by
I just wanna see how you smile
So God, I’ll sing below your window
And catch a light casting your shadow

Galaxy and ABC

You scribbled a drawing of a galaxy
From point A to point B
As easy as 1-2-3
Everything came to be

Your eyes watch the galaxy
From point A to point B
You found me lost in between
And saved me from far drifting

I don’t wanna land on the moon
Don’t wanna land too soon
Until I land on Your heart to belong
And be abducted where rainbows throng

‘Cause I’m a voyager wandering away
Like a rocketship in disarray
In search of Your heavenly home
Let the Morning Star lead me on
